Meet The New Teachers!

They say that the teachers make the foundation of the school. Now this year, we have a new batch of teachers, each having their own background, unique personality, ideals and teaching methods. We had the chance to get to know these newbie teachers and ask them questions about themselves and about the school.



Teacher Angie B. Aquino
“Life moves on and so should we”
   She is a fresh graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education with specialization in General Education at New Era University. She is now a Grade 1 adviser and she’s teaching Math, CLE and Computer subjects. She graduated with flying colors and she says she can dance. And her message to the students is “Enjoy your studies, but make sure you study well”



Teacher Rodelyn L. Asturias
“Live life to the fullest”
   Better known as “Teacher Radda”,she is a graduate of Central College of the Philippines and took up her specialization in the University of Rizal System. She plays the guitar, sings and an active member in the church. She came to GSCS expecting to learn a lot and have fun while doing so. Her message to the students, “Focus on your studies and achieve your goal”



Teacher Maricon A. Ballena
“Patience is a virtue”
   She is a graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education in the University of Manila. It was her dream to become a teacher so she decided to apply to GSCS. As soon as she got the job,she readily accepted saying that GSCS is “Big, beautiful and near!”. She says that there isn’t much about her but she is an avid book reader and her favorite book is “Chicken soup”. “Strive hard and don’t give up” is her message to the students.


Teacher Dearna T. Canete
“Just give it your best shot!”
   She is a graduate of Bachelor in Science Education with specialization in English from Philippine Normal University. She came here expecting that the school demands excellency. She says that she is addicted to coffee or a “coffee-holic”. “It is such a blessing to have been given opportunity to serve and teach you….I’m learning a lot” was her message to the students.



Teacher Jarita P. Descallar
“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul”
    She is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Religious Sciences in the Saint Paul University Quezon City. She came to the school expecting that the school will have a lot of activities in the Church. She says that she is likes reading books and collecting stamps. Her message to the students is “Study hard, pray hard”


Teacher Rochelle P. Frayres
“Be Useful”
   She finished Bachelor in Business Teacher’s Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She came to GSCS saying she is “expecting the best”. She says that she sews well and she makes a good tailor. Her message to the students is “Strive hard, be good, go for the best”

Teacher Marife C. Garcia
“In everything you do,do your best”
   She graduated  Bachelor in Early Childhood Education in Philippine Normal University. She came to the school expecting to she will be trained for wherever she will be going in the future. She plays the guitar and the bass, is a book-lover and she is an active member of the choir. Her message to the students is “Enjoy whatever you are doing here in school”


Teacher Josephine L. Malicdem
“Quitters don’t win, winners don’t quit”
   She Graduated MDCC in the Department of Science and Technologically Accredited School, took Professional Education in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Family Planning Education in University of the Philippines and Master of Arts in Education with Specialization in Educational management. When she came to the school she says that she expects “a lot of things”. She likes to read books and loves to sleep. Some of her messages to the students were “In everything that you do, put God first” and “Remember that INTEGRITY is your best asset”

Teacher Jamie Scott V. Mascariñas
“Whenever you think you can or you can’t, you are usually right.”
   She is a graduate of Bachelor in Business Teacher’s Education from Polytechnic University of the Philippines- Quezon City Campus.  She has come here to the school before when she participated in MTAP when she was high school and comments “Sobrang ganda ng library niyo”. She says that she is a very pessimistic person and that she loves collecting merchandise of Kerokeroppi. Her message to the students is “Be thankful for what you’re experiencing now, not all children have the privilege to study”

 Teacher Chelou Mae P. Moralde
“Do not pray for tasks equal to your power, pray for power equal to your tasks”
   She is a graduate of Bachelor of General Education from Notre Dame of Mabel University. She came here expecting things to be dynamic and comprehensive. She is a catechist and a lector. Her message to the students is “Trust in God, believe in God, surrender yourself to God”


Teacher Mildred P. Pagunsan
“Life is full of surprises”
   She finished Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English in Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Colleges of Caybega Inc.; She says that she is a singer in the choir and is a selfielord. “ Her message to the students was “Aang love madali lang yan, pero study , mahirap yun! Kaya mag-aral muna wag PBB teens :)”


Sir Merwin Maiko Reyes
“It is in knowing we learn how to love” - Saint Thomas Aquinas
   He finished bachelor of Secondary Education with major in Social Studies. He came here expecting that GSCS has good teachers, good facilities, good students and that it is an avenue for him to be trained in teaching, learning process. He is an alumnus of GSCS and was the SCB president during 2009 and 2010. “Study hard and always remember this quote ‘I am not what I am because of who we all are’” was his message to the students.

Teacher Liezle A. Rubiso
“You never know how strong you are  until being strong is the only choice you have”
   She is a graduate of Bachelor in Secondary Education from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She came here expecting that GSCS is a very religious ,catholic school. She says that she is a “frustrated dancer”. Her message to the students is “Mahira mag-aral,kaya hanggang estudyante kayo, mag-aral kayo”


Sir Manoah C. Serrano
“Math may not teach us how to add love and subtract hate but it gives us hope that every problem has a solution”
    He is a graduate of Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Mathematics from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. He came to GSCS expecting that the students will have a good attitude towards their teachers. He admits that he was never top in math during his high school years but instead always tops in AP and that he was always top 5 in general.

Miss Maria Angellie P. Borbor
“Everything has a reason”
   She is the school nurse. She is a graduate of BS Nursing from Our lady of Fatima University. She came to GSCS expecting to learn more. She is a music-lover and likes to sing. Her message to the students is “stay healthy”

Miss Gillian Joyce R. Bugtong
“In God we trust”
   She is a graduate of  Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education from the University of Caloocan City. She came here to be better in work and teaching during her stay. She likes movie marathons and is scared of heights. Her message to the students is “Be Obedient and follow the rules”

Miss Marjorie R. Escoto
“A room without books is like a body without soul”
   She graduated Bachelor in Library and Information Science from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She came here expecting a healthy working environment. She like Anime and k-pop and she plays the banduria. Her message to the students is “Read,read,read because in reading we find gold”

Miss Rachael Anne B. Lagunday
“It’s not hard work that’s hard,it’s self-discipline”
   She graduated BS Psychology from Adamson University.She came here expecting that she will be challenged daily and stated that she started to improve when she came here and GSCS brought out the best in her. She goes mountain climbing and biking. her message to the students was “treasure and value education, this will be your edge in the real world”
