School Dance Competitions Dazzle Color in Costumes

Besides the well-performed choreography, participants of both cheer dance and parade dance-themed competitions dazed audiences with a kaleidoscope of distinct costumes, each bringing out a class’ individuality. 

   Grade 7A Generosity brought lively shades of green into their parade dance through the girls’ bright, glittering dresses and the boys’ satin outfits of dark green long-sleeved polos and yellow green pants. Additionally, Generosity’s girls wore white belts and ruffled skirts paired with white boots laced with green  ribbons while their boys, in contrast, wore darker pairs of shoes, bringing festive colors of spring to their appearance.

   Grade 7B Courage’s emerald green costumes showed the audience a more traditional and ethnic vibe similar to the Asian  tribal ancestors. Awarded with ‘Best in Costume’ for the cheer dance competition, their female participants  wore sleeveless, flowing green dresses sewn with yellow sequins and green sandals while their male performers wore open green vests with yellow sequin designs on its rims with their hips wrapped within similarly green skirt-like cloth as well as green sandals.

   The next competitors to the parade dance, Grade 8A Obedience, dressed themselves in striking yet cheerful colors of yellow, white, and black and completed their attire with gold on their shoes, earning ”Best in Costume” for their competition. Their pony-tailed girls each had a flower headdress, three vertical black diamonds placed in front of their white shirts, fitted neon yellow jackets, black shorts, and white knee-high socks. Their boys only differed from the girls’ costumes with their custom-made black  pants designed with yellow and white diamonds placed on its sides.

   Grade 8B Honesty used mainly black in their American-themed cheer dance costumes to brighten the neon yellow around their fitted sleeves and across their chests. The word “Archers” also stood out from their chests representing the class’ Intramurals group name. Honesty’s female performers wore long-sleeved black tops and skater skirts decorated with yellow triangles while their male performers presented themselves with the same long-sleeved tops and black pants.

   Black flat caps, military camo patterns, and bright red clothes defined Grade 9A Humility’s parade dancers. Their boys wore the flat caps, military camo patterned pants, bright red shirts with the pattern on their short sleeves, and short black boots while the girls were dressed in red from their long sleeved tops to their ruffled skirts with hints of the camo patterns designed over a portion of their top and on the belt with short white boots.

  Whereas Humility had military camo patterns, Grade 9B Kindness displayed leopard patterns over their outfits. The cheer dance champions battled through the competition with their African-themed uniforms; their boys wore red, white, and black shirts, red pants, and black sneaker while their girls wore sleeveless v-neck tops with leopard-patterned straps and  belts, short red skirts, black knee-high socks, and white sneakers. All dancers had a golden-colored “JUNIORS” written across a portion of red in their tops.

  Grade 10A Gratitude appeared with a sailor theme in white, blue, black, and red. Being the champions of the parade dance competition, the male participants danced wearing black hats with a feather attached to the side, white long-sleeved shirts with blue vertical lines on its sleeves, black pants, and black dress shoes while the female performers wore white sailor hats, white dresses with blue and red covering each side, and white boots.  

   In their white sneakers, the cheer dancers of Grade 10B Faithfulness participated in the competition with an overall blue European theme. Faithfulness’ girls performed with thin silver scarves, long sleeved satin tops decorated with silver sequins forming wind patterns, and short blue skirts. Their boys wore loose satin tops with the silver sequins patterned around the neck, sleeve, and waist area and silver satin pants.
