Equality in Selfie

By Carl Bancoro

What comes to mind when you hear the word SELFIE? Does it remind you of very famous people, celebrities for example, taking photos of their self before or during a very big event he or she just attended? Or does it remind you of normal, everyday people who just take pictures of their self while they’re having fun of doing something interesting or cool?

For me, the selfie is a way of self-expression for people today, no matter who you are, even if you’re a world-renowned celebrity taking pictures of their self or just a normal, average person having fun, a selfie is used to express people’s feelings.

It’s one of the latest trends today, especially with the breakthrough of social networking sites like Facebook,  Twitter, Instagram, and other notable ways of social media. In looking at a Selfie, there are two factors, fun and hatred. Fun is for the ones who upload these photos to show how much fun they’re having during that moment. For the hatred,  many bash these people because they’re irritated or just pissed off at those people for no reason.

In my opinion, people should never hate others, just because of selfies. People should never bash others just because they wanted to have fun, it’s just self-expression, no matter what. Hate is useless, especially towards selfies, it’s just plain fun for these people to express their self.

To conclude, selfie is a huge hit today, with billions of people taking selfies of their self, also it’s not bad, and never will be because it’s just fun, nothing more than that. Hatred towards selfies is plain ridiculous and useless. Selfies are for everyone to enjoy, and that’s how it is.
